Abstract: This paper describes the mechanism of shear strength on the cemented surface on the basis of the in-situ test results obtained from a large hydroelectric project, and suggests that it will not need performing shear test on cemented surface between concrete and bedrock. Also opinions on slide-resistance stability design for dams and some considerations of associated tests to be performed in future are presented.
