Abstract
An element-free method for the analysis of two-parameter subgrade plates was studied. The virtual work equation of the two-parameter subgrade plate with free boundary was given. Based on the feature of the moving least squares (MLS) approximant, polynomial basic functions and a weight function were chosen to meet the C1 continuity and the completeness of the interpolants in elastic plate bending problems. According to the virtual work equation, the fundamental equations of element-free method for the two-parameter subgrade plates with free boundary were presented and the characteristics of the total stiffness matrix were shown. A numerical example was given, showing that the method is correct and feasible.
