Design and computation of deep foundation pit adjacent to shield tunnel of metro

  • The deformation of deep excavations adjacent to metro tunnel should be strictly controlled. Based on the excavation of China Life Building, the difficulties and countermeasures of deep excavations adjacent to metro tunnel are introduced. For the support forms and groundwater control measures for the excavation, various design schemes are calculated and compared using the plane strain-seepage coupling finite element method. The results are compared with the monitoring data.
