  • There are som problems in the applicatio of bolomb’s earth pressare thoory to cohesive soils. For instance, whether the earth pressure and water pressure should be calculed separately or integrally, and the hydrostatic pressure or asepage pressure should be considered;what are the effects of cohesion of soil and unloading on the earth pressare, etc. These problems can be now discussed more decenily than ever with the help of modrn soil mecbocs.
