The Structure of Soft Clay and Its Effect on Settlement of Foundation

The Kunsan soft clay is a kind of normally consolidated clay with structure One of the most importantproblems would be how to evaluate the basic behaviour of the soil and how to utilize it The following problemswould be discribed in this paper:(1)the influence of structure on mechanical properties of soil(2 )the influenceof structure of soft clay on its settlement,pore pressure and horizontal displacement in different improvement zone.(3)the method to evaluate the influence of the structure on settlement The result calculated by this method is con-sistent with the settlement measured in the field.
