A Tentative Approach to Optimum Design of Multibrace Diaphraqm wall

Using the mixed penalty-function methods and DFP scale transformation in nonlinear programming and taking the method of hypothetical elastically supported beam for an example, this paper attempts to describe the optimum design for the diaphragm wall. For the other methods of calculating the internal forces of the diaphragm wall, 1,2 the ideas of the optimum design discussed in this paper are also applicable.
