Theory and Practice of Soil Shearing Strength

The experimental and theoretical research works relating to the soil shearing strength performed at IWHR and the utilization of these research results in practical geotechnical engineerings since 1956 are simply introduced in ths paper as follows:1. Recommendation of the application of the effective stress theory and search of new study fields besed on advanced experience.2. Some examples of the engineering problems solved by using these results of research works.
