Horizontal Bearing Capacity Calculation of Pile Groups

On the basis of a model test, the response of pile groups under horizontal forces and the mechanism of failure were analyzed. concerning pile group efficiency, a concept of overall efficiency was introduced, and associated calculation method was proposed. It is shown calculation result are comparable to the measured are from model tests. Finally, an expression for calculating horizontal bearing Capacity of pile groups is presented, in this paper.
