    Nonlinear Analysis of Soils Using the Cubic and Bicubic Spline Function

    • In this paper, procedures to obtain deformation modulus E, and Poissons ratio v, by means of cubic spline function and bicubic spline function are presented and discussed. The procedures are applied to finite element nonlinear analysis of Biot consolidation problem for the Datangchong homogeneous hydraulic-fill dam in Guangdong. Comparison between the results from theoretical calculations and field experimental data shows that they attain rather good approximation.
