Application of earthquake refracted wave method to geologyical prediction for tunneling

The geological disaster,such as cave of karst,rushing water and collapse often occur in tunnel excavation.Therefore the geological prediction is imperative before tunnel excavation to minimize geological disaster.The refracted wave method was introduced,and the geologial prediction for Biandanya Tunnel of the Shanghai—Chengdu Expressway was given as an example.It was found that the predicted result is conformable with the actual situation.
