Experimental study on behavior of rigid pile composite ground under horizontal load

The composite foundation with rigid pile has been used under tall buildings in some areas. In order to understand the behavior of composite foundation under horizontal load, a series of model tests were performed to investigate the effects of different vertical load and thickness of cushion on horizontal displacements of pile head, pile body and the top of cushion under horizontal load, and to reveal the mechanism of interaction of foundation-cushion-pile under the horizontal load.
