Study on the role of cushion of composite ground and its minimum depth
Under cushion the settlement of soil between deep mixing piles (or CFG piles ,concrete piles) is bigger than that of the piles.A formula to calculate the minimum thickness of cushion under rigid structural layer was derived by mechanics analysis on the cushion column above the pile.
