Problems on foundations of high-rise and large-scale public building in Beijing area

Owing to the changes in building conditions and the environments, new problems on the evaluation and design of foundations for high-rise buildings, skyscrapers and large-scale public buildings are frequently encountered. Taking issues rose in Beijing area as examples, this paper discussed some primary achievements relating to analysis of bearing capacity and stability and controlling of uneven settlements. Important issues that need to be further concerned were also pointed out at the same time.
