Damage model of the rock mass medium with intermittent cracks

A microdamage model of intermittently cracked medium is presented based on the connection of the increment of additional strain energy in fracture mechanics and the emission of damaged strain energy in damage mechanics. The microdamage is compared with the results of brittle material model test,and good agreements are obtained.
