3D geostress measurement by hydrofracturing technique and its engineering application

The method and modification of 3D geostress measurement by hydrofracturing technique is proposed in this paper . Unlike the conventional hydrofracturing method, it does not adopt the hypothesis that one of the principal stress direction is parallel to the borehole axis. This method has been applied in the Shuibuya Hydroelectric Project .
