Application of augmented Lagrangian method in frictional contact problem

This paper applies augmented Lagrangian method to frictional contact problem by means of considering the stiffness of joint element as a penalty number of the penalty method. Procedures of simulating stick, slip and bonding or debonding state of node pairs and stiffness matrix symmetrization are presented. The analysis of a dam foundation is carried out.
