Engineering properties of soft soils and design of soft ground

This paper is a summary of some research works on soft soils conducted in Nanjing Hydraulic Research.Institute during recent 40 years,the special emphasis is put on the recent development in the study of structure of natural soft clays and the effective consolidation stress method in the stability analysis of soft ground.
