Study on Elastic Wave Velocity of Rock under Confining Pressure

In this paper, the physical and mechanical parameters of rock including velocities of longitudinal and shear waves, dynamic elastic and shear moduli, dynamic poisson’s ratio and strength, etc., and also the variation of these parameters in the course of uniaxial and triaxial compressive loading and their relationship with mechanical characteristics are introduced. In the meantime, the effect of temperature on elastic wave Telocity of rock under given confining pressure is comprehensively reviewed.
