  • Based on an analysis of reasons for the problems occurred at Tianshengqiao First Dam and Aguamilpa Dam,200m high concrete face rockfill dams,the imperfection of current idea of dam zoning design has been indicated.A new concept of dam zoning for high CFRD has been put forward here.Deformation harmonization principle should be follwed,besides material resource principle,hydraulic transition principle and excavated material utilization principle in CFRD dam zoning design.Four ways for achieving the deformation harmonization have been put forward in order to make the stress-deformation behavior of high CFRD good and ensure dam safety.
