  • Strength reduction FEM was conducted to analyze the deformation and stability behaviors of subgrade embankments on sloped weak ground using geotechnical engineering commercial software Plaxis.The research was made to put stress on the difference between sloped weak ground and horizontal weak ground,the influences of embankment slope and loading berm,and the possibility of appearance of composite sliding surface.The results of theoretical analysis agreed with those of geotechnical centrifuge model tests well.It was shown that strength reduction FEM could provide reliable guide for the design and construction of infrastructure.
