Assessment model of thermal thawing sensibility of permafrost under engineering activity

More Information
  • Published Date: November 28, 2001
  • Thermal thawing sensibility play an important role in evaluating the sensible in fluence of engineering activity on frozen soil environment. Evaluating model of thermal thawing sensibility (EMTTS) is proposed, and the sensible influence of e ngineering disturbance on frozen soil environment is analyzed by using EMTTS acc ording to monitored data of ground temperature along Qinghai-Xizang Highway. The results of analysis show that thermal thawing sensibility of permafrost c hanges exponentially with permafrost temperature and annual mean ground temperature and logari thmically with seasonally freezing-thawing depth. The change of thermal thawing sensibility corresponds to the changes of seasonally freezing and thawin g process.
