Abstract:
In order to study the load response of multi-barrel jacket foundation under different rates of loads, 1
g physical model tests under variable rate horizontal loads are carried out in sandy soil foundation to analyze the influences of loading rate on the maximum bending moment and horizontal bearing capacity of multi-barrel jacket foundation. The results show that the peak value of load displacement curve increases with the increase of the loading rate, and the displacement interval corresponding to the maximum horizontal bearing capacity appears later. Under the horizontal loads with different rates, the absolute value of the vertical displacement of the front bucket and the accumulated water in the hole pressure in the bucket are larger than those in the rear bucket on average. The increase in bending moment and horizontal bearing capacity caused by the increase in horizontal loading rate is due to the accumulation of pore pressure.
