Abstract
Bassd on two-parameter elastic foundation model,the authors derive finite elements formulas for thickplates on elastic foundation. For obtaining the solution without considering the boundary general shears,iterationmethods is applied to eliminate the boundary general forces in this paper. For considering the effects of boundarygeneral shears,the authors develop the boundary elements formulas for the deformation of foundation outside plates.On basis of BE formulas,the equivalent stiffness matrix of FE is developed,Assembling this matrix into the globalstiffness matrix,the authors obtain the results considering the boundary general shears.By comparing with results ofother authors,it is shown that the method developed in this paper is correct and effective. On the other hand,Onlya minimum of computer memory and CPU time is required in this method.
