  • By the means of a hydraulic displacement control mechanism made by the authors, centrifuge model tests on lateral pressure of wails retaining compacted clayey backfill, which displacement can be controlled, have been conducted. Depth of crack and its effective factors, relations of magnitude and distribution of lateral pressure versus wall displacement are discussed.
