Subgrade Compaction of Residual Cohesive Soils with High Water Contents

More Information
  • Published Date: January 19, 1984
  • The natural conditions, structural compositions and compactive characteristics formed in residual cohesive soils with high water contents are discussed in this paper. The strengths of these kinds of soils after compaction are the comprehensive reflections of consistency, density and texture, therefore, it is necessary to control the quality of subgrade compaction by choosing values of soil consistency and strength corresponding to optimum compactive effort, and conduct construction in accordance with proper compaction process.
