Laboratory tests on influences of skin degradation on bearing properties of piles

  • Based on the research approaches of the interaction between piles and soils, a laboratory experiment method is proposed to study the effects of skin degradation on bearing properties of piles. The influences of skin degradation on the bearing properties of friction piles are discussed. The test results show that the skin degradation of friction piles under working load can lead to the increase of settlement of piles and may affect their normal function.
