  • Based on the horizontal static load tests on 15 single pile of 4 sites in Shanghai, the bearing capacity of PHC piles under the action of horizontal load is studied. According to the test data, the standards for the horizontal static load tests are discussed. The prestressed piles with low reinforcement ratio and without cracks should be determined according to the corresponding load combined with the critical load and horizontal allowable deformation value of 10 mm. Through the finite element software ABAQUS, the horizontal bearing properties of different types of prestressed pipe piles are discussed. This study will be useful for the design of horizontal bearing capacity of single pile.
