Advances of earth-rock dam seepage control theory in China

More Information
  • Published Date: May 14, 2011
  • High earth-rock dams have been extensively constructed in China. Shuibuya CFRD, 233 metres in height, is the highest in the world. The theory of seepage control is adequately developed, and the seepage exit is protected by the filter while seepage prevention is combined with expulsion. It is important for the safety and economy of dams. The development of seepage control theory is exhibited in four aspects: (1) the core crack is included in the study of seepage control; (2) the seepage control of CFRD is improved constantly; (3) the filter works increasingly effectively; (4) the function of drain increases.
