Measurement of stress in piles and soil for composite foundation

More Information
  • Published Date: August 14, 2008
  • Pressure sensors were directly used in the traditional measurement methods for composite foundation. The problems of cost and precision might be aroused.A new method was proposed to measure the reaction of composite foundation instead of the traditional measurement methods. In this method, the strain of the loading plate on the composite foundation was measured, and then it was transformed into reaction of composite foundation by using numerical analysis method based on the shell theory. The proposed method could avoid the insufficiency of the traditional methods, and the distribution of direct reaction on the piles and the soil might be obtained. Therefore,it could provide powerful tools for the analysis of mechanical performance of the composite foundation.
