Theoretic study on the technology of applying heat pipe to solving frost heaving

  • The technology of using heat pipe to prevent foundation from frost heaving showed very successful in cold region. The thermal and frozen processes of foundation with heat pipe were numerically analyzed in this paper. Main effect factors such as weather, soil characteristics and geometric size of heat pipe were investigated. The results will be very useful for practical application and design.
