Application of microseismic monitoring technology of strata fracturing in underground coal mine

More Information
  • Published Date: March 21, 2002
  • This paper introduces the microseismic technology which has been used to monitor strata fracturing in coal mine. This monitoring system was developed by the Exploration and Mining division of CSIRO of Australia. This paper presents some of the monitored results got from Australian coal mines. These results show that microseismic monitoring technology can be used in Chinese coal mines for monitoring and forecasting mine disaster induced by strata movement. In this paper, the authors point out that data processing and analyzing methods must be combined with mining engineering theories to predict disaster, and represent the developing plan of auto microseismic monitoring system in future. The plan is very important for improving the safety situation of Chinese coal mines.
