In this paper, a simplified approach based on spline semi analytical method is proposed for analysis of dynamic response of layered visco elastic foundation. The foundation is divided into a number of sub layers and the displacement functions are expressed as the product of basic spline function and Fourier’s series.According to the complex damping principle, the dynamic responses can be obtained by solving Lagrange’s equation. Furthermore, The data of load time histories are measured by Falling Weight Deflectometer(FWD) in situ to calculate the response curves of layered visco elastic foundation. The results obtained are compared with solutions by other theoretical methods. It may be considered that the Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) is a useful tool for the dynamic test of road surface.
