  • A 10.6 m deep foundation pit in the soft clay area of Tianjin, using single strut system, was given as an example. The elastic reaction method was used in calculation. The paper also gives some measured results including: soil and water pressure, deformation of retaining structure and strut system, the settlement of surrounding ground ,etc. Through comparing , some useful conclusions were obtained.
