On the basis of data measured at the site of tunnel, the finite element method simulating the details of bench cut construction is established. The main engineering measures (bench cut method, grouting, shotcrete, rock bolt)that control the deformation in the surrounding rock of the tunnel are discussed. The theory of controlling tunnel ground surface settlement in NATM construction is given.
