Abstract: The soil charcteristics in the aera of Tianjin are briefly intreduced in this paper.Based on thesemement records of40 buildings,settlement behaviour of the buildings in this area are studied. Thenthe sedement of a building is calclated with finite element method of(1)Biot′s consolidation theory,(2)a coupled problem of BOit′s consolidation and bound surface constitutive model.
