Abstract: Basic concepts of fracture control blasting is described briefly. Field test results with this technique, conducted firstly in tunnelling in China, as well as the comparision with that of other methods of blasting and the evaluation of effectiveness are presented. It is shown that the fracture control blasting is of great importance in engineering practice to achieve a good perimeter control.
