Failure mode of geocell flexible retaining wall with surcharge acting on backfill surface

  • 摘要: 土工格室柔性挡墙作为一种新型公路边坡支挡结构,在公路边坡防护中具有广阔的应用前景。柔性挡墙在土压力作用下会发生挠曲变形,其破坏模式与刚性挡墙相比具有一定的差异,并且墙顶填土表面常会作用堆载。通过离心模型试验研究了填土表面作用荷载时土工格室柔性挡墙的破坏模式,并与高宽比和坡度相同的未施加荷载的柔性挡墙进行了对比。研究结果表明:填土面荷载对土工格室柔性挡墙破坏时的滑楔体影响较小,因此在土压力计算中可以采用与填土面无荷载作用时相同的破坏模式。
    Abstract: The geocell flexible retaining wall, a new type of retaining structures, has a broad application prospect in road slope protection. Flexural deformation of the flexible retaining wall will take place under the effect of earth pressures. Therefore, the failure mode of the geocell flexible retaining wall differs significantly from that of rigid retaining wall. And the backfill surface is always subjected to the surcharge. The failure process and failure mode of the geocell flexible retaining wall with surcharge acting on the backfill surface are studied by means of the centrifugal model tests. Moreover, its failure mode is compared with that of the one without the effect of surcharge. The results indicate that the surcharge acting on the backfill surface has little effect on the failure mode of the geocell flexible retaining wall, and thus the same failure mode with the one whose backfill surface is not acted by the surcharge can be employed in the calculation of earth pressures against the flexible retaining wall.
