Abstract: Based on the engineering geologic investigation reports of many important buildings in Hangzhou area, point variability and spatial variability of soil property parameters, are associated by means of stochastic field model of soil profile. Then some variation laws of the correlative distance and spatial variability coefficient are gained by statistic analysis of shear strength indexes of several typical. stratums. Besides, the difference and correlation between the strength indexes of direct shear and triaxial compression tests were studied.
